The universal twin needle can be used with all conventional domestic sewing machines with zigzag function.

With the universal twin needle, you can transform clothes and accessories into beautifully decorated items: use two upper threads to sew two parallel decorative seams at the same time. You can also quickly sew pintucks with the universal twin needle and a pintuck foot, without the need to iron the pintucks.

Thanks to the slightly rounded tips, the universal twin needle can be used with a wide variety of fabrics without problems.

Before sewing
The universal twin needle is inserted into the needle bar like any other household needle: from your point of view, the flat part of the shank points away from you.

The needle plate and presser foot must have a recess large enough for the distance between the needles and the selected stitch width.

Threading the needle
A separate spool of thread is required for each of the two needles. If you do not have a second thread holder, use a bobbin for the second thread and place it on the spool holder under the thread spool that holds the first thread.

Make sure the bobbin and thread spool unroll in the same direction.

You can use the same thread colour for both needles or different colours for decorative effects.

Pass both threads through your machine's guide elements together, as if they were a single thread. Then, separate the threads and pass one thread through each eye. Some machines have special tools to separate the threads. In this case, follow your machine's specific threading instructions.

Note:
The automatic needle threader does not work with twin needles!
