With the twin needle for jeans, you can create authentic, professional-looking seams on your jeans and other denim garments, even without using a special sewing machine: on your common household sewing machine, you can sew two seams at the same time with a distance of 4 mm, using two upper threads on the top of the seam.

Note: the shank colour is now red (it used to be blue). The technical properties of the needle are not affected by the colour change.

Before sewing
The twin needle for jeans can be used on all conventional household sewing machines that have the zigzag function. Like other household needles, it is also inserted into the needle bar: from your point of view, the flat part of the shank faces away from you.

The needle plate and presser foot must have a large enough recess for the needle distance. Therefore, use the needle plate and presser foot for zigzag.

Threading the needle
A separate spool of thread is required for each of the two needles. If you do not have a second spool holder, use a bobbin for the second thread and place it on the spool holder under the thread spool containing the first thread.

-If the bobbin is split, make sure the spool of thread is in the same direction.

You can use the same thread colour for both needles or different colours for decorative effects.

Thread both threads through the guide elements of your machine together, as if they were one. Then separate the threads and thread one thread through each destination. Some machines have special tools for separating the threads. In this case, follow your machine's specific threading instructions.

Note:
The automatic threader does not work with twin needles!
