Upper Looper for Singer Overlock (Ref. 68004310)

The upper looper is one of the most important mechanical parts in forming an overlock stitch. Working in a synchronised "dance" with the needle and the lower looper, this arm guides the thread over the edge of the fabric to create the characteristic interlocked finish of the seam.
When the operator inadvertently pulls the fabric or a fabric that is too thick blocks the feed, the needle deviates and can hit the tip of the looper. A looper with a scratched, bent or broken tip will cause constant thread breakage, skipped stitches or, ultimately, completely prevent the machine from sewing.
