Needle Plate for PFAFF Overlock (Ref. 29‑924993‑70/999)
The needle plate is the metal plate on which the fabric rests while the needles penetrate and the loopers form the overlock stitch. It is through the holes and grooves of this plate that the thread is guided, ensuring that the cutting and finishing of the fabric occur with precision, constant width, and without flaws.
With intensive use, passages through thick areas of fabric, or handling errors, the needles can deflect and hit the plate. These impacts create dents and burrs that then snag the thread, causing the machine to skip stitches or pull thin materials. Replacing this part restores the original smooth geometry to the sewing area.
