Upper Looper for PFAFF Overlocker (Ref. 416327101)
The upper looper is one of the most important mechanical parts in the formation of an overlock stitch. Working in a synchronized "dance" with the needle and the lower looper, it is this arm that guides the thread over the edge of the fabric to create the characteristic intertwined finish of the seam.
When the operator inadvertently pulls the fabric or a fabric that is too thick blocks the feed, the needle deviates and can hit the tip of the looper. A looper with a scratched, bent, or broken tip will cause constant thread breakage, skipped stitches, or, at worst, completely prevent the machine from sewing.
