Leather Belt with Hook for Treadle Machine (Ref. CORF)
The classic leather belt (approximately 5 mm thick) is an essential accessory for bringing old cast-iron treadle sewing machine cabinets back to life. It comes in a universal length, ample enough to fit any standard cabinet on the market. The piece includes a robust metal hook, indispensable for joining and securing the two ends.
With a length that typically reaches 1.85 meters, the maximum measurement needed for any model, this part always requires manual adjustment. During installation, you should thread the belt through the wheels of the machine and the cabinet, stretching it slightly to determine the exact length, then cutting off the excess leather.
After cutting, simply make a small hole in the new end (using a punch, nail, etc.) and insert the metal hook. Finally, use pliers to close the hook and firmly join the ends. It is important to ensure the belt has some tension to prevent it from slipping on the main wheel of the treadle cabinet during sewing.
