Needle Plate for Singer (Ref. 416665701)
The needle plate is the metal plate on which the fabric rests while the needle pierces it and forms the stitch on the domestic straight-stitch sewing machine. It is through the central hole and the side grooves that the thread is guided and the fabric advances evenly, ensuring straight and precise stitches.
When the needle hits the plate (bent needle, incorrect assembly or thick fabric), marks and burrs are created that catch the thread, cause skipped stitches and can damage delicate fabrics. Replacing the plate is the reliable solution to restore a perfect finish.
