Needle Plate for Singer Industrial (Ref. S52033)
The needle plate is the metal component on which the fabric rests while the machine forms the stitch. This straight stitch (lockstitch) needle plate is distinguished by its reduced needle hole, a fundamental feature for sewing light to medium-weight fabrics. By minimizing the clearance around the needle, it prevents finer fabrics from being pushed or "chewed" into the rotary mechanism, ensuring perfect seams at high speed.
With wear and occasional needle impact, the small hole can develop burrs that fray the thread and pucker the fabric. Replacing the worn plate (often along with its feed dog) restores industrial precision to the equipment.
