Needle Plate for Cut and Sew / Overlock Machine (Ref. B10301004)

The needle plate is the metallic base through which the needles penetrate to intertwine the threads, together with the hooks. It is over the grooves of this part that the fabric slides and where the loop is formed to finish the edge of the material.
As it is the impact point of the sewing area, small fabric deviations or tension failures can cause the needle to hit the metal. If the plate becomes pitted, scratched or its metallic "fingers" are bent, the machine will start skipping stitches, fraying the thread or even pulling the fabric into the machine.
