Needle Plate for Industrial Singer (Ref. S12411)

The needle plate is the metal component on which the fabric rests while the machine forms the stitch. This straight stitch (lockstitch) needle plate stands out due to its extra-wide needle hole, specifically designed for heavy-duty and upholstery work. Thanks to the size of the hole, it effortlessly accommodates very thick needles and heavy threads, making it ideal for sewing car upholstery, tarpaulins, leatherette, and heavy-duty fabrics, without the risk of the needle hitting the metal.

With intensive use and the strong tensions generated by thick materials, the plate can wear out or warp slightly. Replacing a worn plate (often in conjunction with robust feed dogs) is essential to ensure consistent feeding and prevent stitch failures in demanding jobs.
