Needle Plate for Pfaff and Singer (Ref. 416679601)
The needle plate is the metal plate where the fabric rests while the needle pierces and forms the stitch on a domestic straight stitch sewing machine. It is through the central hole and the side slots that the thread is guided and the fabric feeds evenly, ensuring straight and precise stitches.
When the needle hits the plate (bent needle, incorrect assembly, or thick fabric), marks and burrs are created that snag the thread, cause skipped stitches, and can damage delicate fabrics. Replacing the plate is the reliable solution to restore a perfect finish.
