Needle Plate for Pfaff (Ref. 98-694827-00)
The needle plate is the metal plate where the fabric rests while the needle pierces and forms the stitch on a domestic straight stitch sewing machine. Designed for models with an integrated dual feed system (IDT), it has a rear cutout for the upper presser foot to pass through. Its circular hole ensures maximum fabric stability and prevents thin fabrics from being pushed into the bobbin case, ensuring perfect straight stitches.
When the needle hits the plate (bent needle, incorrect assembly, or thick fabric), marks and burrs are created that snag the thread, cause skipped stitches, and can damage fine fabrics. Replacing the plate is the reliable solution to restore a perfect finish.
