Pfaff Bias Binder Foot (Ref. 820245096)
The Bias Binder Foot is an accessory designed to enclose and sew bias tape onto fabric edges in a single step, providing a clean, protected, and highly professional finish. The front part of this piece features a spiraling metal cone that acts as a guide: this tunnel automatically folds the bias tape symmetrically around the fabric edge exactly as the needle descends to sew.
This technique is ideal for binding necklines, armholes, hems, quilts, and decorative projects where a durable and perfectly smooth finish is desired. For best results, it is recommended to use unfolded bias tape approximately 24 mm wide, and the initial tip should be cut to a point to facilitate its insertion into the guide. By adjusting the needle position on the machine, you can attach the tape with a basic straight stitch or use zigzag and decorative stitches for a richer visual effect.
In terms of installation, this is a screw-on accessory and not a simple snap-on presser foot. To mount it on the machine, it is necessary to unscrew and completely remove the usual presser foot holder (the shank) and attach this piece directly to the presser bar. Due to its size, shape, and the bias tape feeding process, the IDT system is not used with this tool.
