Braiding Foot for Tapes and Cords / Soutache Pfaff for IDT System (Ref. 820607096)
The Couching/Braiding Foot (or Soutache Foot) was designed to help you create wonderful textures and raised details on fabric. Its base features a circular front guide and a deep lower groove (accommodating diameters up to 6mm), allowing thick wool yarns, cords, authentic soutache, or narrow satin ribbons to glide perfectly aligned and raised under the needle as you secure them.
The magic of this presser foot happens when you combine it with narrow zigzag stitches or your machine's luxurious decorative stitches: the thread passes over the cord, attaching it to the base and creating a visual effect that resembles a hand-embroidered appliqué. To ensure the fabric does not pucker due to the volume of the applied thread, this presser foot is fully prepared to work in conjunction with the IDT system (dual feed), which must be engaged. You can easily rotate the fabric as you sew, and the guide will ensure the ribbon follows the curve. It is compatible with Pfaff machines from groups B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K, and L (important note: the brand advises that this presser foot should not be used simultaneously with automatic needle threaders).
