The Perfect 1/4" Foot with Guide is an absolutely essential accessory for patchwork and quilting enthusiasts. As its name suggests, its design allows you to sew with an exact 1/4 inch (about 6 mm) seam allowance, which is the standard universal measure for joining patchwork blocks.
This foot stands out because it has a small side metal blade (the guide) that works as a perfect stopper for the fabric edge: just align the fabric cuts against this metal guide while you close the seam to ensure a consistent margin every time, from beginning to end. Furthermore, the small round needle hole in the base ensures that the fabric is not pushed down (the well-known tunneling effect), even when sewing thin fabrics on loose ends, also working perfectly for edgestitching.
This model was designed with a specific rear cutout to work in conjunction with Pfaff's IDT system (integrated dual feed), ensuring that the two layers of cotton used in patchwork advance at exactly the same speed, without the patterns misaligning at the end of the block. It is compatible with Pfaff machine groups B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K, and L.
