Free-motion Spring-Action Open Toe Presser Foot for Pfaff (Ref. 821141096)
The Open-Toe Free-Motion Spring Foot is an absolutely essential accessory for free-motion embroidery and manual quilting enthusiasts. As the name suggests, its innovative design features a completely open, U-shaped front of the presser foot, ensuring perfect and unobstructed visibility of the needle during sewing. This becomes crucial when you need to precisely follow a pattern drawn on the fabric or fill specific spaces during free-motion quilting.
This presser foot stands out for having an integrated spring mechanism: as the needle moves up and down, the spring moves the foot in sync. This action presses the fabric down at the exact moment the stitch is formed, preventing the fabric from lifting with the needle (known as flagging). The result is much more consistent stitches, with perfect tension and a drastic reduction in the risk of skipped stitches or thread breakage, even when sewing over thicker patchwork quilts. Since the machine's feed dogs are lowered in free-motion embroidery, this accessory is the key to moving the fabric manually with complete control and smoothness.
This model does not use the IDT system (integrated dual feed), as in free-motion embroidery, the feeding is done manually by the user with the feed dogs lowered. It is compatible with Pfaff machine groups J and L.
